Happy St. Patrick*s Day
District Bowling Tournament
The District Bowling Tournament was a great success with more than 35 teams participating during the two days, Saturday March 6th and Sunday March 7th.
Our team was captained by Lion President Tom. Making up the team were Lion Tom Wells, Lion Don Bragg, Lion Jim Coleman and Ken Pepple. Ken is Dick*s neighbor, he is a 200 plus bowler and was our team*s secret weapon. Our team was off to a great start led by Ken and Jim who were really bowling well. Then it happened, Lion Jim came up lame with a pulled hamstring in the 8th frame. Lion Dick stepped to the plate (Lane) without any warm-up, saving the day by pinch hitting (rolling) for our team. A fantastic victory over the SoLanCo Lions. Be sure to congratulate our bowlers. I'm sure you'll want to make a generous pledge to our victorious team.

District Governor*s Message
Lions, Lioness, and Leo's
This year I will continue with the One Hundred Percent Contribution Club Award. However, the award this year will be a pin; that will be available to every club, whose club is a one-hundred percent contributor. Contributions will be based on the club's membership as of July 1, 2003 and must meet the contribution schedule of sixty dollars per member and a RIDE for SIGHT SPONSORSHIP and a BEACON LODGE CAMPERSHIP; or in lieu of the Beacon Lodge Campership, they must sponsor both the Girls and Boys Seminars at Beacon Lodge. The pin itself will be a small version of the current District pin. Clubs will receive the pin at the Presidents Honor Night, if their contributions are in by then. If not, the late clubs will receive theirs later, as long as the contributions are received prior to June 30, 2004. Clubs that are one hundred percent will have one hundred percent by the Club name on the contribution page of the District Newsletter.
Don't forget its time for NOMINATION OF NEW CLUB OFFICERS and that the Club Officers Training School will be held at the Mount Joy Vo-Tech School' on April 29.
Presidents Honor Night will be held on APRIL 16, 2004, at Yoders Restaurant in New Holland, P A. Seating reservations will be on a FIRST RECEIVED basis. Reservation form is in this issue of the District Newsletter. The old saying goes here also, the Early Lion, GETS THE BEST SEAT, so don't delay in getting your Club's reservation in as soon as possible. The form may be duplicated. Checks MUST ACCOMPANY the reservation or it will not be honored.
Don't forget, Saturday, April 17, 2004 is the District Convention at Cedar Crest Middle School in Lebanon, P A. Some highlights, we will be taking part in The Lions World Wide Induction Day. So bring new members and their sponsors and any other lions who may want to re-do their induction, this will be possible. Please notify the District Governor as soon as possible, prior to the convention, as to how many will participate. We will finish up the convention with artist, Elva Hurst, doing the Lions Story in chalk art.
Yours in Lionism,
